From the Pastor
Greetings to One and All,
It is my hope and prayer that this letter finds each of you doing well. That the blessings of God are upon you and that your sharing has touched the lives of many in very positive ways.
The image of being gathered in by God is a powerful one in our celebration of the Lord’s Supper. As we begin this month, know that each of you is worthy in the sight of God to sit at the table of forgiveness, repentance and redemption. Likewise, all those with whom we are at odds are also invited to this same table. For our conversion to be whole we must also be mutually vulnerable to the plight of those we do not always hold dear. During this time of Lent we are called to press our boundaries and find new hope in Christ. While we are called to repent, we are also called daily to accept God’s grace in our lives. It is repentance that allows us to accept this grace. With that grace you are able to build communities of joy, hope, love and peace.
On a daily basis we may find ourselves lost and found. This is an opportunity to know that God is always in our midst and that it is not necessary to pray for God to be near. May you may hear your God in the clamor of the day’s events. May you see the spirit of God present in the lives of your enemies. May your joy be full as you are in right relationship with your God. We are continually reminded that God’s redemptive acts on our behalf demonstrate love unlike anything the world accepts as rational or successful.
As you venture out in faith, know that you are never alone, that God is always at your side. This is not a guarantee of safety and security but knowledge of sufficiency. It is my prayer that your day will be bright, your path light and your faith ever gracious. May each of you find grace this day.
Grace and peace,
DAJIII (Sam)
