From the Pastor
Greeting and salutations to one and all,
As I have always begun, I hope
this letter finds each of your healthy and blessed by the grace of God. It is my prayer that all may find comfort and
peace in the sacred places where each of you worship, pray and witness.
We have just finished the advent
season, which brings with it the celebration of Christ’s birth. Likewise it also ushers in the New Year. We have many blessings to be thankful for and
with those blessings we are called to share or witness of those blessings. As
we look to a new beginning, allow yourselves to be witnesses of all the
blessings we see and understand. We are
called to follow the path of the Christ, to share our blessings, to be amazed
by those gracious words, and to not be silent.
We can be the shepherds that
witnessed the birth of the Christ in the Gospel of Luke that were amazed. We can be the Magi in the Gospel of Matthew,
who traveled far to pay homage to the new King.
We can be the innkeeper that gave shelter for that road weary family as
they sought desperately to find a place to rest.
The reality is that we are none of
these, as these are object lessons that are meant to strengthen our faith as we
journey. We are called to be the witness
in our day of the divine impression that touches each of us. More importantly, we are touched by the grace
of God. It is that touch that touches the depth of our soul and harkens us to
witness and share the light of Christ. That touch emboldens us to not remain
silent when we hear the clamor of many voices.
We are never amazed at those gracious words, but we are blessed to be
those who share those healing words.
Even in the dark, when all seems to be lost for some, we are called to
be the light in that day, to break forth and see the face of God.
May each of you continue to bear
affirmative testimony of the Love of God that has touched your life. It is my prayer
that you may always have the strength to do so.
Grace and peace,
DAJIII (Sam)
